Side-hung multi-purpose steel doors are universal products intended for a wide range of usage in accordance with relevant standards, and they satisfy high aesthetic demands at the same time.
are made of galvanized sheet steel with a thickness of 0.5 to 0.75 mm or stainless sheet steel with a thickness of 0.75 mm in 1.4301 grade (grain 220-240). A door leaf board with a thickness of 40 mm is manufactured by means of a cold forming method while ensuring proper parameters concerning fabricating tolerances; without warping and the stresses of door leaf sheathing. The construction of non-fire rated door leaf is reinforced by wooden blocks with cross section 39/50 mm in the upper edge and hinging points, and the door leafs are filled in with stabilizing boards, polystyrene boards, or mineral wool panel. The most common filling is a stabilizing honeycomb insert of a high stiffness and ribbing density, which ensures constructional stability, even if the door leafs are large-sized. Door leafs intended for ensuring higher rates of thermal or acoustic insulation are filled in with polystyrene or dense mineral wool. Regardless of the material, the filling of multi-purpose door leaf is glued on both sides to the door leaf sheathing over its whole space, gaining a proper stiffness and ensuring standard door leafs flatness. Thanks to the proper door leafs flatness in double-leaf doors, they maintain the effect of invisible connection of common surface - in a closed position, and they are on the same line, obtaining excellent optics. A significant and extremely practical feature of multi-purpose door leafs is the possibility of shortening up to 15 mm in the mounting conditions.
guarantee their safe and easy mounting. Carefully completed system of several door frame profiles allows stable door fixing in concrete and brick walls, as well as light constructions (plasterboard). In door frame profiles, it is possible to make the transom lights and sidelights, which allow implementing individual, non-typical projects. The filling of transom frames is often a transparent, safety glass, but doors with transom lights may be mounted with matt or ornamental glass, as well as glazed units with a profile depth up to 24 mm - it opens up the possibilities of individual usage in terms of aesthetic, safety, and functionality.
Multi-purpose door leafs in standard and medium dimensions are mounted on screw hinges, which are adjustable in two points. In the case of large-size doors or with fire-resistance version and other features, the opening angle hinges being adjustable in three points are available. These types of hinges - that are grounded in a matt design or varnished in RAL colours - allow optimal doors adjustment as well as light and silent closing.
In a standard set of fittings, there is a mortice sash lock, which is manufactured in accordance with DIN 18251 / PN-EN 12209 or ŐNORM B5338, and it is intended for lock cylinder mounting. A set of door handles made of polyamide on a short escutcheon plate in the black colour with a steel core, a door lock cylinder with a pin tumbler lock key. In the case of double-leaf doors, blocking the inactive leaf is made by manual shoot bolts or automatic latch with a simultaneous locking up/down.
Thanks to the possibilities of using different types of leafs infill as well as a broad range of door keys, fittings, and weather-strips at the production stage, they are strictly adjusted to the function to which they should be used: On universal basis of steel doors, fire-rated, smoke-proof, acoustic, medical, thermally insulated doors, and even doors with increased anti-intruder protection are offered. The construction of multi-purpose steel doors also allows the usage of a wide range of above-standard accessories: Optionally, the doors may have the elements of access control, self-closers, panic push bars with panic door fittings, automatics of opening and closing the doors, as well as different types of glazing in the polygon and circular modules.
Under the standard, the surface of leafs and door frames of multi-purpose steel doors is galvanized and primed in the ash or white colour. It can also be galvanized and powder-coated in RAL colours - thanks to a proper paint coating thickness and high-quality varnish, the colourful door frames and door leafs retain the corrosion resistance and guarantee the aesthetic appearance for many years. In the stainless version, the sheathing is made of polished stainless steel. A version concerning galvanized doors and film-coated with plastic in the wooden-like colours is also available. The numerous options regarding the surface finish of multi-purpose steel doors give real possibilities of using them in the most demanding architectural projects in the scope of their design.
Depending on the option, the physical characteristics of multi-purpose steel doors are as follows:
Fire resistance class EI²30 in accordance with PN-EN 13501-2:2008.
Self-closing class C5 in accordance with PN-EN 14600:2005 for doors fitted with a self-closer with a hydraulic cylinder.
Acoustic insulation in accordance with PN-EN ISO 20140-3:1999/A1:2007:
Rw-37dB for one-leaf doors in a version with a threshold and a four-sided seal in the threshold and door frame or a version with non-threshold with a three-sided seal in the door frame and automatic drop seal in the lower edge of the door leaf.
Rw-35 dB for double-leaf doors in a version with a threshold and a four-sided seal in the threshold and door frame or a version with non-threshold with a three-sided seal in the door frame and automatic drop seal in the lower edges of the door leafs.
Smoke resistance Sm in accordance with PN-EN 13501-2:2008 for doors with mounted, automatic drop seal.
Mechanical resistance in accordance with PN-EN 1192:2001:
Class -4- for doors with leafs sheathing made of steel sheet of 1.00 mm thickness.
Class -3- for doors with leafs sheathing made of steel sheet of 0.75 mm thickness.
Multi-purpose steel doors provide a very practical solution for room closure of the production and warehouse buildings as well as office rooms and public utility facilities. The doors in ‘stainless’ version are used in laboratories and hospitals. Steel doors are also recommended for residential buildings and may be used at the completion of wooden interior doors. In multi-family residential buildings, they are commonly mounted as closing the storage rooms.
